Casting announced for PG Woodhouse comedy!

Casting has been announced for Salisbury Playhouse’s adaptation of PG Wodehouse’s golfing stories, Love on the Links.

Michael Fenton Stevens (Benidorm, ITV; Yes Prime Minister, UK Tour) plays the Oldest Member with Tim Frances (The Magna Carta Plays, Salisbury Playhouse; Sweet Bird of Youth, Chichester Festival Theatre) as Fitt and Jenna Boyd(Wind in the Willows, London Palladium) as Lily.

Tiffany Graves (Meow Meow: Apocalypse Meow, Shakespeare’s Globe; The Producers, UK Tour), Adam Jackson-Smith (The Real Thing, Bath Theatre Royal), David Shelly (Dark Heart, ITV) and Rob Witcomb (Beryl, The New Vic) complete the cast.

In the rarefied surroundings of Wood Hills Golf Club in deepest Surrey all is very genteel. The Oldest Member is having a snooze in the corner while the barman is pouring another White Horse and Malvern at the ‘Nineteenth Hole’.

It’s soon time, however, for the Oldest Member to stir in his armchair and regale us with stories of seduction, canoodling and thwarted love, with the help of some biffo club members, not to mention the ever graceful Daphne Cartwright and the dashing Jack Ramage.

PG Wodehouse’s golfing stories have been adapted by Jon Glover and Edward Taylor. Jon Glover is known for playing Mr Cholmondley-Warner in Harry Enfield and Chums in the 1990s. He has also appeared in BBC Radio 4’s The Archers as Martin Gibson.

Love on the Links is directed by Ryan McBryde (Before the Party, Jack and the Beanstalk, Salisbury Playhouse) and designed by James Button. The musical supervisor is Paul Herbert.

Love on the Links runs in the Main House of Salisbury Playhouse from Thursday May 31 until Saturday June 23.

Tickets are on sale now and can be booked by calling Ticket Sales on 01722 320333 or by visiting www.salisburyplayhouse.com.
