Swindon Dance streaming free short dance film centred around female empowerment

Swindon Dance are offering members of the public the chance to see ‘Let Them Eat Cake!’ online - a short dance film about body image positivity.

Swindon Dance say they are proud to present this new short film as part of the Digital4 commission series, and thank the Foyle Foundation and its partners The Place and Maninahat.

Let Them Eat Cake! will be available to stream online, right up until 21 April.

A spokesperson describes the plot: “Inspired by a twist on the famous phrase by the French Queen Marie Antoinette, Let Them Eat Cake! is a short dance film on girls’ empowerment and body image positivity. Three girls rebel against how society dictates how they see themselves.”

The short dance film can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9JlStgSn4A and the trailer can be found below:

The film is said to follow three characters who transform from being ‘perfect girls’ in their 18th-century costumes, to who they really are.
