Skerryvore’s latest single ‘Everything You Need’ continued their journey towards the April 28th release of their new album‘Tempus’. It was premiered by Zoe Ball as her New To 2 on Radio 2,  where the song was subsequently playlisted and earned further praise from Ken Bruce and Jeremy Vine, while long-term support continued courtesy of Jim Geraghty at Amazing Radio. Now the Scottish collective are set to continue to be discovered by a wider audience as they share the new single ‘Eye of the Storm’ which was premiered by Mark Radcliffe on BBC Radio 2. Listen HERE

The opening song to the upcoming ‘Tempus’ album, ‘Eye of the Storm’ is a stirring, swelling singalong which showcases not just the band’s champion-level and diverse musicianship, but also their newly invigorated way with a belting rock song. ‘Eye of the Storm’ very naturally hits the spot where the band’s Scottish roots provide the launchpad for a broader, anthemic alt-pop sound.

Vocalist Alec Dalglish says, “‘Eye of the Storm’ is about emotional growth and learning that often the most important things in our lives will take some fighting for. It’s a song of hope which encourages facing any obstacles head-on to be where you want to be in life while learning that it’s about the experience and the journey, not just a finish line that you cross.”

The airplay success of ‘Eye of the Storm’ coincided with a huge boost for Skerryvore’s upcoming live plans. They’re set to electrify the pre-game atmosphere ahead of the Scotland v Ireland Six Nations game in front of a huge crowd at  Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium this Sunday. Their headline tours in support of ‘Tempus’ have also expanded, with the confirmation of a major North American tour from late March and numerous additional UK shows. The band are also gearing up for a busy summer festival season, which already includes dates in the UKIrelandGermany and Ibiza. Please see HERE for a full list of dates and ticket information.

‘Eye of the Storm’ joins ‘Everything You Need’‘You & I’ and ‘Vancouver Island’ in previewing the ‘Tempus’ album. Their first record under a new deal with Cooking Vinyl, it’s a set which indicates a new future for Skerryvore, placing a strong focus on pop-flavouring songwriting, a richer, contemporary production and lyrics which exude optimism - but all without losing sight of their Scottish folk heart.

‘Tempus’ is available to pre-order/pre-save HERE, with all the band’s recent tracks provided as instant downloads.
