Mini Concerts in the Oxford Covered Market

Live music sessions take over Oxford’s Covered Market

Upcycled Sound and OCM launch a new digital series, Live Sessions at The Covered Market. With much of the historic market being closed over lockdown, the Oxford producers and their hand picked musicians were given exclusive late-night access, performing beautiful bite-sized sets in the walkways of this iconic space. Recordings of these 5 micro-gigs will be released online between May and September 2021.

This live series presents some of the most innovative artists making music today: Native Dancer, Loula Yorke, Alabaster dePlume, Flora Curzon and feeo. The carefully selected  bands and solo artists hail from a diverse range of genres, from jazz and neosoul, to experimental electronica and folk.

The performances were captured by Upcycled Sounds’ team of expert videographers and sound engineers, crafting each set into a miniature video masterpiece to give audiences an immersive taster of the live experience that’s been out of reach due to the pandemic.

Hannah Jacobs of Upcycled Sounds said of the series:

‘It was magical to bring the iconic Covered Market to life with live musicians and create the opportunity to showcase a space and profession both hit hard by lockdown. The sessions are beautifully recorded and really capture that live music feeling we’ve all been missing.’
