By Tyler Ody

Disco Abbey 2023 final line-up announcement.

First three ticket tiers now sold out for 9th June event

Glitterbox resident DJ Natasha Kitty Katt joins live disco legends Odyssey, Soul II Soul frontman Jazzie B & remix collective Fleetmac Wood at Reading’s Abbey Ruins

Disco Abbey 2023, which Blue Collar are hosting in Reading’s Abbey Ruins on Friday 9th June as part of Reading Water Fest weekend, makes it’s final line-up announcement today after Tier 3 tickets sold out over the weekend. Glitterbox and Southport Weekender resident DJ Natasha Kitty Katt joins previously announced headliners: chart topping New York disco originals Odyssey with their full live band, legendary Soul II Soul frontman Jazzie B playing a DJ set, plus festival favourites Fleetmac Wood, who take their club nights of exclusive Fleetwood Mac remixes and edits all around the world.
“The response to our first Disco Abbey announcement last month was incredible” explains Blue Collar’s Event Manager Pete Wheeler, “we’re so happy to have received such a positive reaction for our first night of disco in Reading’s Abbey Ruins and to have earlybirds and first three ticket tiers sold out already”.

“With disco legends Odyssey, Jazzie B of Soul II Soul and remix collective Fleetmac Wood already topping our bill, we knew an excellent night was guaranteed but we’re also super excited to add another great name to our line-up” Pete continues, “Natasha Kitty Katt is a brilliant disco DJ with well-deserved residencies at Glitterbox, Southport Weekender, Soul Heaven and Ocean Beach Ibiza. Her infectious energy make her the perfect headliner for our second stage on Friday 9th June!”

In addition to the live acts and DJs playing across two stages, Blue Collar are providing bars with their usual combination of local craft beers and lagers with prosecco, Pimms and much more alongside award winning street food.
“Our Discorama party at Blue Collar Corner on New Year’s Eve showed us what a fun crowd, both young and old, comes to a disco party” Pete explains “so when we were given the opportunity for take over the iconic Abbey Ruins as part of this year’s Reading Water Fest, we all agreed it had to be a disco night”

“Odyssey are a fantastic live disco band who mix in plenty of disco classics by other acts alongside their own big hits including ‘Inside Out’, ‘Going Back To My Roots’, ‘Native New Yorker’ & UK Number One ‘Use It Up, Wear It Out’”. Their frontman Steven Collazo used to live in Caversham so it will be a homecoming of sorts too!”

“Jazzie B is the founder of one of the best loved soul bands of all time in Soul II Soul and one of the most in demand soul and funk DJs on the circuit. We can’t wait for him to warm up the crowd as the sun begins to set behind the iconic Abbey Ruins.”

“Closing our mainstage will be DJ collective and festival sensations Fleetmac Wood who take their unique parties, with exclusive remixes and edits of Fleetwood Mac songs, around the globe. Expect dancers twirling through smoke, lights bouncing off mirrorballs and some big singalong moments!”

“Also playing live will be local disco act Alive By Night who took the mainstage of Readipop Festival by storm last year, combining incredible vocalists with infectious danceable grooves.” Pete added “With two music stages alongside Blue Collar bars and street food, we’re ready to put on a seriously fun party this June!”
