Henley's Summer Fling cancelled | September festival still set to go ahead

HENLEY FESTIVAL CANCELS POP-UP EVENT IN JULY DUE TO DELAY IN GOVERNMENT LOCKDOWN EASING

Tuesday 15th June 2021: It is with much sadness and regret that Henley Festival is having to cancel their pop up event Henley Festival’s Summer Fling from 8th – 10th July, due to the Government’s delay in lockdown easing that was announced to the public last night. Having been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic, Henley’s Summer Fling was created as a pop-up event to help raise funds for the festival that usually takes place over that weekend. As a result, Henley Festival was moved to September to ensure it can go ahead safely.

Jo Bausor, CEO of Henley Festival, comments: “We are all incredibly disappointed but we have to comply with Government regulations and the safety of our guests and the wider public has always been our priority. We would like to thank you all for your support and remind you that it is not all bad news, as you can get your festival fix at Henley Festival on Wednesday 15th – Sunday 19th September. The face value of tickets will be refunded and if you have any issues or questions regarding refunds please contact SeeTickets here”.

While Henley’s Summer Fling cannot go ahead, this September will more than make up for it and promises a festival experience like no other. From Wednesday 15th – Sunday 19th September, festivalgoers are in for a treat with live performances from Seminal British pop band Madness, multi-platinum selling singer-songwriter James Blunt, singer-songwriter sensation Sophie Ellis-Bextor, legendary DJ Sara Cox and legendary Special Guest, Kathy Sledge of Sister Sledge joining Disco Classical.

Henley Festival will be back with a bang and return as the UK’s most glamorous festival with an eclectic line-up full of award-winning comedy from the likes of Al Murray, Milton Jones, Shappi Khorsandi and more, critically acclaimed artists and the biggest names in popular, world, jazz and classical music.

Established 38 years ago as a classical music charity event, Henley Festival is the UK’s only black-tie festival – glamour personified – and continues to run as a non-profit organisation, supporting charitable projects at both a national and local level.
