The fifth Old Town Beer Festival will be taking place this weekend from Friday 5 (6-10pm) & Saturday May 6 (12noon-10pm).

This is the first time the event has run over two days and the organisers are hoping to generate even more funds for the church, community and other local charities.

This year the festival is supporting Phoenix Enterprises, an independent social enterprise charity whose commercial activities support training and employment opportunities for people in the Swindon area with mental health issues.

The festival will also assist the Old Town Rotary Club who will be selling ducks for their inaugural duck race on Bank Holiday Monday May 29 at Westcott Recreation Ground on Wootton Bassett Road, Swindon.

The Old Town Beer Festival pride themselves on choosing good quality beer and ciders and this year have a selection of 50+ beers and 30 ciders.

The Hop Inn and Los Gatos have agreed to sponsor the event for the second year running as the local businesses show their community spirit and assist each other.

Jason, landlord at The Hop Inn said “We support the Old Town Beer Festival to promote local appreciation of the good stuff. What we share is a love of a quality natural product, be it food or drink.  If it’s made with care from good ingredients, it’s for us, and we hope it’s for you too. Our investment in the local community is as important to us as the community’s support for our businesses”.

Tickets are priced at £10 for the Friday night/Saturday day time and include a glass. Organisers are also introducing a £5 ticket for the Saturday evening from 6pm to help finish off the remaining liquid.

Tickets can be purchased in person from The Hop Inn, Devizes Road or Magnum Wine Shop on Wood Street.
