A life-changing journey

Fancy a trip of a lifetime to Africa and India?

You know the type of thing - one of those trips that will blow your mind and change your entire outlook on life.

And you actually get to help others and do a lot of good at the same time. Back of the net!

Younique Travel Adventures organise trips for schools, colleges, universities and other groups.

They run trips to two developing countries - Kenya and India - focusing on community cohesion, adventure and culture.

Younique pride themselves on putting the communities they visit and those who travel with the team at the heart of what they do. And unlike a Travel Agent they will be with you every step of the way!

The specialist team has gone from strength to strength over the past five years ensuring that every trip they organise is expertly planned, safe and enjoyable for every group. Founded by people who have an educational and travel background, they know first-hand how difficult it can be to organise overseas trips for groups.

The core aim throughout all the trips is that you meet and work with the communities you visit. This may be through volunteering, taking part in workshops or just engaging with the local community and embracing their culture. It is important that the trips promote responsible tourism and that any projects Younique are involved in are already established projects. They are then able to help these projects become more sustainable. Younique have close relationships with their partner projects and have seen first-hand the difference these groups can make to their community and their economy.

Partner charity the ‘Younite Foundation’ fundraises throughout the year to enable groups of travellers to make a sustainable difference to the projects. Here are just a few examples of the great work Younique groups have been able to achieve:

•The building of a new well to enable the school to have water on site at all times

•The building of a new classroom to cater for more children from the community and to run a Sunday church service

•The provision of new toilets to improve sanitation

•The re-surfacing of classroom floors that were previously dangerous and caused injuries to the children

•The provision of teacher training to the Kenyan based teachers, many of whom are volunteers themselves.

•The delivery of new and innovative teaching ideas to the classrooms

•The provision of funding towards the building of a new school

•The building of a new kitchen including two new cookers

Although the above work is funded by donations the humanitarian support from groups is priceless. Creating life changing experiences not only for the communities you meet, but also for you the person taking part.
